Septoplasty Surgery Process
The nasal septum is the thin structure that separates the two sides of the nose. In case, it's not exactly in the middle of the nose, it is said to be deviated. A deviated septum may be caused by a simple variation in the normal structure or because of broken nose. In a nose deviated septum, the nostrils get displaced to one side of the nose. This may make one nasal passage smaller. A narrowing of the nasal passageway threatens the drainage of sinus secretions passing through the nose. This may cause infection. People having allergic rhinitis are at greater risk as their passageways have already been narrowed by swollen membranes lining them. This may lead to acute or chronic sinusitis.
